Die Karten stammen von Brad McGinty, mit einer kruden Geschichte über ihre Herkunft verkaufen sie sich aber bestimmt besser:

A few years after my Grandfather returned from the war he decided to start a greeting card company. Armed with one terrible idea and no artistic ability whatsoever, he turned to someone he had met during the war for help, a young Japanese solider he had shot in the face named Haruo. My grandfather spoke no Japanese, and Haruo spoke no English, so how they actually got together is beyond me or anyone else in my family. The idea involved creating American-style greeting cards for both the Japanese and the American markets. It also required Haruo to create all the artwork and handle all of the printing.

DAS ist echt mal genial: Ein Hardcore-Konzert, nachgebaut aus Lego, in Stop Motion gefilmt und nett animiert. Und anscheinend kommt das Ganze sogar offiziell von Lego, für eine Episode der LEGO Club Show. Yeah! Musikalische Früherziehung nach meinem Geschmack.

Ab sofort nehme ich zu Weihnachten, zum Geburtstag und sonstigen Anlässen nur noch Geschenke in Burger-Verpackung entgegen. Da hatten die Leute von Gift Couture eine sehr, sehr leckere gute Idee.

Bis die ersten Geschenke im Burger-Design verpack werden können, könnte es allerdings noch ein paar Tage dauern, da das Projekt über die Crowdfunding-Plattform Kickstarter finanziert werden soll. Die für den Produktionsstart benötigten 7.900 Dollar sind zwar schon zusammen gekommen, aber dennoch läuft die Finanzierungsrunde noch bis zum ersten Januar. Für das potentielle Weihnachtsgeschäft eher ein suboptimales Timing, würde ich mal sagen …

Gift Couture is a start-up creative and innovative wrapping paper company that offers high-quality wrapping paper sets. We will produce unique papers that coordinate together into conceptualized themes and sets. This is exemplified in the Cheeseburger set that we chose to use as the initial project. This includes 5 different wrapping paper designs; a bun, hamburger, cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes, all of the components of a Cheeseburger! Right now we are working to get pre-order funding to get the project off the ground. This will also encourage and enable us to release additional coordinated sets, which will be available online and through retail partners.

Das Comic Sans Project nimmt sich Logos bekannter Firmen und Marken vor und “verbessert” diese durch den Einsatz der schrecklichsten Schriftart, die die Menschheit jemals hervorgebracht hat: Comic Sans. Widerlich. Aber eine interessante Idee.
